This makes some sense. But if we are in a flat world (i.e., borderless in terms of good jobs), how do we compete with big countries like China and India that cull their huge populations for the best and brightest?

That's easy. A country raised on private education will have MORE best and MORE brightest. The several States of America have raised the bar in most every field not by hunkering down to defeat the enemy, but by opening up and unleashing latent human potential. Who would you rather have make you a sandwich: a DMV employee, or a man from Guatemala who is thankful for the job? Freedom empowers the man from Guatemala. The man who already has the spirit because he knows what it means to produce. When we have children raised by parental government, and then watched over for the rest of their lives by parental government, it creates the same dependence you see in a man who still lives in his mother's basement at 30. It's no wonder Jerry Springer has so many choices for guests nowadays. Our government is poisoning the average mind. Where does that start? Public education. Don't worry about China and India. If we're more free, we'll win. Just ask history. FREE
